Jin Shin Do®️ Bodymind Acupressure®️

Experience gentle yet deep finger pressure on specific acu-points and verbal Body Focusing techniques to help release “armoring” or chronic tension, restore energy balance and improve vitality. This clothes-on method helps relieve stress- and trauma-related problems. 

A blend of Eastern wisdom and psychotherapy principles,Jin Shin Do®️ is an energy-based approach that influences the body, psyche, and emotions. It is grounded in the idea that emotional experiences are reflected in the body, and vice versa, that physical experiences are reflected in the psyche. Emotions and the body are two expressions of the same reality: an individual’s vitality.

A unique synthesis of traditional Japanese acupressure technique, classic Chinese acupuncture and acupressure theory, Taoist philosophy, Qigong breathing and exercise techniques, Reichian segmental theory and principles of Eriksonian psychotherapy, it is recognized as a major form of Asian Bodywork Therapy (by AOBTA®️, NCCAOM®️, NCBTMB and U.S. Department of Education, among others).

In practical terms, during the session, the recipient lies down comfortably and remains clothed.

The practitioner employs one finger in each hand to connect two specific acupuncture points. 

Generally a “local point” in a tense area is held together with related “distal points” which, though distant from the tense area, help it to release because of functional and energetic relationships. These two points may align along the same organ meridian or the same extra meridian, commonly referred to as a “marvelous vessel.” Utilizing these extra meridians (eight in total), which function as energy reservoirs, resembles adjusting a lock gate to restore balance—balancing upper and lower body, front and back, left and right, inner and outer. The result is the release of muscle tension, sustained relaxation, and a deep sense of unity.
